Clinically proven to reduce cortisol (the stress hormone that is reponsible for many illnesses when uncontrolled), alleviate depression, increase serotonin (the "happy hormone"), lower effects of childhood diabetes, increase circulation, deeply relaxes the nervous system, etc. In fact, massage has been proven to have a positive effect on EVERY system of the body (circulatory, digestive, endocrine, immune, lymphatic, muscular, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal, and urinary) Fact check this information under the tab: LINKS, MASSAGE LINKS, RESEARCH. Why wait for a problem to arise in one of the above mentioned systems in our bodies. A monthly massage can help prevent problems from even beginning!! Of course, if you do already have a dis-ease or experiencing pain, massage is VERY beneficial at helping to restore you to better health!
Non-prescribed services: Any services that are performed without a written script from a medical provider. It is not within a licensed massage therapist’s scope of practice to diagnose, prescribe, or develop a medical treatment plan. Only basic treatment notes are kept on non-prescribed services because the goal of the service is not medically focused.
Swedish Massage: A basic massage that is the best-known type of bodywork performed today, making relaxation the primary goal of the session. However, it does benefit you beyond relaxation. With long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart, Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep Tissue Massage: This massage is more beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension than a Swedish massage. The focus of this service is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Because different massage techniques are used in this service, deep pressure is not always the method that is actually necessary, however, pressure is accommodated at the request of the client. Deep tissue massage is also clinically proven to reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.
Integrative Therapeutic Massage: An individualized session combining advanced modalities that could include, but are not limited to Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Energy Therapy, Myofascial Release, etc. This type of massage is more beneficial at keeping your body toned, stress free, healthy and strong, and is best when done in a series of three or more sessions.
Prescribed Services: Any service that is performed with a written script from a medical provider. If you were injured in a car accident, work-related injury, etc., you have the right to seek medical/therapeutic services from a licensed professional. Even if you currently do not have a claim, you can still request a script from your medical provider for massage therapy services. (We have all the forms you may need here.) GROW will work closely with you, and your doctor, ensuring that you get the most therapeutic care possible for your injury. A quick recovery is our goal.
Medical Massage: A massage that is prescribed by a doctor for a specific injury or medical condition such as: pain associated with spinal disk injuries, chronic pain/ arthritis, numbness, sciatica, migraines/headaches, pain associated with postural imbalances, other injuries, nerve pain, anxiety, edema, to name a few.
Energy healing, such as Reiki, works to restore the natural energy balances in and around our bodies. Imbalances occur due to various factors such as trauma, illness, injury, negative thoughts (fear, anger, worry, doubt, etc.), nutritional deficiencies, toxicity, etc. We also create dis-ease when we do not foster healthy relationships in our lives, or carry on in a destructive lifestyle (or even one that does not serve our highest good). Energy therapy can help provide relaxation and stress reduction methods so that our bodies can naturally heal itself. Energy therapy is simple and non-invasive. It utilizes the subtle energy fields in and around us flowing from the Source to promote healing and wellness in the recipient. It is an ancient practice that balances body, mind and spirit allowing us to return to our true form. An energy therapists places her hands gently above the body. Comfortable clothes work the best for the recipient.
Some specific benefits include but are not limited to: promotes relaxation and better sleep, reduces blood pressure, increases vitality/postpones the aging process, assists in cleansing the body of toxins, removes stagnant energy or helps clear a complete blockage in our bodies energy systems (endocrine, nervous, etc), assist in teaching us to love ourselves and others in healthier ways and can raise our vibrational frequency of the body (important!).

Therapeutic yoga is not just another style of yoga. It is a way to directly address health challenges such as structural pain, problems from chronic illness and/or emotional disturbances. Private instruction is a wonderful way to bring yoga into your life. The International Association of Yoga Therapists defines Yoga Therapy as, "...the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application and teachings of yoga." What is Yoga Therapy?Yoga Therapy assumes each person is unique and adapts and applies Yoga techniques to help individuals based on their needs, interests, and current condition. Through the one-on-one sessions, and through a personalized home practice, my goal is to enhance your health and well-being by reducing symptoms, restoring balance, increasing self-understanding, encouraging prevention, and facilitating healing at all levels of your being. How can Yoga Therapy help you? Yoga Therapy is helpful for: Structural conditions (such as back pain, hip pain, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica, sacrum dysfunction). Physiological conditions (such as high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, COPD, GERD, constipation, Crohn's Disease, stroke, chronic pain, iBS). Emotional conditions (such as depression, anxiety, panic, stress management), and many more are helped by the varied techniques of yoga. Spiritual deepening or exploration. What techniques are used?Many of the tools of yoga can be incorporated: physical postures, breath exercises, relaxation, meditation, sound, self-study, and lifestyle (such as diet, exercise, sleep, or stress management). Because of the self-reflective nature of the work, discussion also becomes an integral part of our time together. What do sessions look like? Sessions are conducted on a one-on-one basis and held in a private space. They are tailored to meet your special needs and a personal practice is developed to assist you in working on your own. No special equipment is required. The first appointment is approximately 90 minutes with subsequent visits lasting approximately 1 hour. Your first visit will include a consultation, as well as a beginning practice to take home. Payment: First session is $90 with follow up sessions at $70. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

•Aromatherapy - Added to any massage or reiki service, the benefits for aromatherapy are endless. Currently, we have chakra blends that were created to assist in balancing each of our seven main chakras. Chakra is translated "wheel" in sandskrit. They are the channel to which energy flows and supports our energy centers, which affects surrounding organs and systems. We went LOCAL with our aromatherapy products. Please call our office for custom blend orders and inquire about classes being offered.
•Wellness Classes - Past events included: Wild & Edible Food Hike, Aromatherapy 101, Reiki I, free weight loss seminars, FREE Intro to Medicinal Herb class, Green Clean party, and more.
